|John Hosford ||Jiu-Jitsu / Kickboxing Instructor, Black Belt under Master Pedro Sauer |
John Hosford began his grappling career when he started wrestling at age 10. Through high school and college, he trained in many styles of wrestling including Folk, Greco Roman, and Freestyle.
While in college in 1996, John had the unique opportunity of working as a training assistant with the American Olympic Wrestling Team during the Atlanta Summer Olympics.
In 1998, after suffering numerous wrestling injuries and becoming "burned out" on the sport, John took a year off and contemplated his grappling future. That's when he was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through Royce Gracie and the UFC.
After training for nearly two years and earning his blue belt, he and his brother, Matt, decided to open the first BJJ school in Knoxville. After years of competing in Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, John earned his black belt from Professor Sauer in 2008.

Robert enjoys helping to teach Jiu-Jitsu to kids for a number of reasons.
"Kids absorb information really quickly, and they're usually very enthusiastic," he says. "And with my daughters in the class, it's a great way for me to spend some quality time with my family in a fun and healthy environment."
